Reporting finds
How do I report a bottle I found?
On the Map tab, tap + Report. If you’re in a store, the app picks it for you; otherwise search for the store. Pick the bottle (or tap 📷 Scan to scan its barcode), choose what you saw (found, a few left, or sold out), and add a count, shelf price or photo if you like. Then tap Post sighting.
I saw a find in a Facebook post or group text. Can I share it?
Yes. On the report screen, tap 📋 Saw it in a post?, paste the post (or pick a screenshot), and tap Read the post. Bottle Chase fills in the store and bottles; tap Report this bottle for each one and check it before posting. If it missed something, tap Missing a bottle? Try smarter reading or + Report another bottle from this post. Only share recent finds.
The store or bottle I want isn’t listed.
On the report screen, tap Store not listed? Add it or Bottle not listed? Add it. New stores are reviewed before everyone sees them. If a bottle’s name, proof or age is wrong, open a sighting of it and tap Suggest a correction.
How do I know a report is accurate?
Look for the badges: At store means the reporter’s phone was at the store, Photo means they took a shelf photo, and the confirmation count shows how many other hunters tapped Still there. If you find it gone, tap All gone so others don’t make the trip.
Can I delete something I posted?
Open your sighting and tap Delete this sighting. In a party chat, press and hold your message and tap Delete.
Alerts
Why am I not getting alerts?
- On the Alerts tab, tap Turn on notifications (or allow them for Bottle Chase in your iPhone’s Settings).
- Add the bottles you’re hunting on the Watch List tab.
- Check your Hunting range on the Alerts tab: you’re only alerted about finds within that distance.
- Allow location for Bottle Chase, so the app knows what’s in range. Without it you’ll still get alerts from your hunting parties.
Hunting parties
How do I start or join a hunting party?
On the Party tab, choose a name your party will see, then tap Start a party and share its invite code, or enter a friend’s code under Join a party. Finds you post to a party, and its chat, are only visible to its members.
How do I report an inappropriate photo or message?
Tap a photo to open it and tap Report photo. In a party chat, press and hold the message and tap Report. We review every report.
Your account
Do I need to sign up?
No. Bottle Chase creates an account for you the first time you open it, without asking for your email or phone number.
How do I delete my account?
Go to the Alerts tab → Your account → Delete my account. Your account, photos, ratings, watch list and messages are deleted right away; your sightings stay in store history without any link to you. You can also email us and we’ll do it for you. Details are in the privacy policy.
I got a new phone. Can I keep my account?
Not yet: accounts are tied to the phone they were made on, so a new phone starts fresh. Your old sightings stay on the map for everyone.
